Curtain up on theatre sale

Costume hire manager Sally Stone at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, prepares outfits for a sale and exhibitition this weekend.

Clothes on display to celebrate the theatres’ 21st birthday include Maxine Peakes outfit from the play The Deep Blue Sea, modeled by Ms Stone, Alison Steadman’s coat in Horse and Carriage, left, and Lenny Henry’s jacket worn during Othello on the right.

All the items on sale have appeared in a production from the last 21 years and the vintage costume and craft fair is taking place between 11am and 5pm in the bar area.

As well as the costume stall selling costumes from theatre productions, there will be stalls selling vintage clothes and accessories, jewellery, homewares and fabrics.

A range of new designers will also be showing their collections.
