Entrants will also be able to use free parking at selected Park and Ride sites across Sheffield between 8am and 8pm on Sunday, September 2, the day of the race.

More than 3,500 people have signed up for the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run, which starts on Arundel Gate and follows a route to Hillsborough football stadium and back.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive’s director of customer experience, David Young, said: “We are proud to support this year’s Bupa Great Yorkshire Run and offer entrants the opportunity to travel around the city as cheaply as possible.

“We hope this will make it easier for runners and their families to get in and out of the city centre by using Park and Ride or leaving the car at home.”
