Dangerous dog seized in drugs raid

POLICE seized a dangerous dog during a raid on a cannabis farm in West Yorkshire.

Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out the raid at a property on Griffe Drive in Wyke, Bradford.

Drugs-related paraphernalia including lighting, irrigation and hydroponics was seized as well as a quantity of fully grown cannabis plants.

A man and woman were arrested on suspicion of the production and cultivation of cannabis and for illegally using electricity.

A dog – which was identified as an American pit bull style dog – was also seized from the garden along with two puppies which were found inside the house.

The police raid took place on December 30 but details were released only yesterday.

Officers delivered leaflets to nearby houses outlining what residents should do if they suspect someone is dealing drugs.

Inspector Osman Khan said: "This was a very successful raid – not only did we close down a cannabis farm but we also took a dangerous dog off the streets and arrested two people.
