Daughter ‘worried sick’ about on-the-run father

THE daughter of a man on the run from police has begged him to give himself up, saying she is “worried sick” about his mental state.

Police, who have been trying to trace prison absconder Eithan Teanby following a Post Office raid in north Lincolnshire on May 21 which left two people injured, now want to speak to him about a bank robbery in Nottingham on Wednesday.

His daughter Jade, 21, from Scunthorpe, said she was concerned her father had run out of prescription medication he needs and was worried he would “spiral out of control.”

She said: “Dad, please come forward, I am absolutely worried sick about you and your mental state. I know you need me and I can’t even help you at the minute. It is killing me and Nana. I can’t even function properly without you.

“Please do the right thing so I can see you.”

The Post Office put up a £10,000 reward after two members of staff were hurt at premises on East Common Lane, Scunthorpe, when a robber lashed out with a weapon as they tried to stop him taking cash.

Teanby, 40, was serving 10 years and eight months for robbery, GBH and assault when he was let out of HMP North Sea Camp in Boston for the weekend to see his relatives in Scunthorpe. Nottinghamshire Police now also want to speak to Teanby over a robbery at the commercial branch of the Halifax Bank at Bulwell on Wednesday afternoon.

Jade said she had received a card from her father this week saying: “Love you always”.

She also revealed he had turned up unexpectedly at her grandmother’s on May 21 “really distressed and panicky.” “He was there literally for minutes. He said he was off to his solicitors and he was going to hand himself in.”

She said without his medication “he deteriorates really fast and gets upset and can’t control his actions.”

She added: “His illness takes control of him if he doesn’t have his medication.

“It has already taken control that is why we need to get him as soon as we can before he spirals out of control.”

In a statement police said: “Further to the Post Office incident Nottinghamshire Police are also wanting to speak to Mr Teanby in connection with a robbery at the Halifax Bank in Bulwell which happened at around 4.40pm at the commercial branch on Wednesday May 30.”

Teanby is 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, stocky and with dark brown greying hair. He was last seen in a faded navy T-shirt, red or brown hooded tracksuit top, light jeans, a red baseball cap and boots. He was carrying a long black holdall. Last week Scunthorpe Labour MP Nik Dakin said he would be taking Teanby’s release up with the police and the Home Office in view of his serious convictions.
