Deep thinkers scrabble for first place
Leeds played host to the semi-final of the National Scrabble Championship semi-final at the weekend.
At stake was the opportunity to take a coveted spot in the national final which will be held in London on October 31, the winner of which will be crowned the National Scrabble Champion and take home a prize of 1,500.
The semi-final took place on Saturday and yesterday at the Hilton Hotel, in Leeds city centre, with competitors playing a gruelling 14 matches over the weekend with the two recording the most wins going through to the finals.
