Deliveroo launches in Bradford

Takeaway app Deliveroo is recruiting delivery couriers ahead of its launch in Bradford.

The popular app, which allows users to order food from restaurants within a defined radius of their location via their smartphone, has already been a huge success in Leeds and York.

Cycle and motorbike riders collect orders from restaurants, cafes and traditional takeaways before delivering them to customers' homes and workplaces.

Fifteen outlets have initially signed up to cook fresh-to-order meals for Deliveroo users in Bradford that will be delivered within 30 minutes.

The courier jobs appeal to students and keen cyclists wanting flexible working hours.

Deliveroo's Caroline Hazlehurst said:

“We’ve seen a huge demand for Deliveroo in Bradford and we’re excited to be launching this month; we’re feeling very positive about the creation of new jobs for local people."

Deliveroo customers can even schedule orders up to a day in advance. The app targets quality restaurants rather than street-corner hot food outlets.
