ANYONE who doubts whether fashion has a future in Yorkshire should have popped inside a Halifax mill yesterday.
Designer Kevan Jon Aspinall has launched his latest fashion brand, after receiving help from the Yorkshire-based business transformation organisation, Insight with Passion (IWP).
Halifax-based IWP has been working with the Mr Aspinall for three months, and helped him to create a new look as he tries to win more customers. Designer and business owner Mr Aspinall lives in Huddersfield and works with his creative team at a studio in Halifax.
Mr Aspinall approached IWP to help with a “brand rejuvena-tion”.
Kate Hardcastle of IWP said: “We are delighted to be working with Kevan at this exciting time and are thrilled to have created a beautiful new look for the brand; the new website showcases his collections perfectly.”
Born in South Africa and raised in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Mr Aspinall took an HND course in Fashion Manufacturing at Batley College of Art & Design.
After graduating in 1991, Mr Aspinall set up his own business. He launched his first collection at the London Show in September 1992.
Today, he works with a team of seven at a studio in Halifax, where his business has been based for the last three years.
Jenny Tomlinson, commercial executive at IWP, said: “2011 has also been a busy year for Insight with Passion; after presenting seminars at four trade events the senior partners will fly to Dubai.
They are then travelling on to Jeddah where they will be among the first westerners to present a seminar at Wedding Arabia.
“This year has also seen IWP grow internationally, after winning a six-figure contract with a retailer in Australia.”
Founded in 2009, IWP is a business transformation organisation that works with leadership teams to help them improve their performance.
The organisation includes senior partners Kate Hardcastle and Richard Gomersall.
An IWP spokesman added: “IWP is set apart from the Big Four consultancies by offering a personalised service rather than a ‘one size fits all’ solution.”
The website featuring Mr Aspinall’s latest work will be launched on September 11 to coincide with the British Bridal Exhibition at the Harrogate International Centre.
