Detectives link three robberies carried out during 90 minutes in Hull

A trio on bikes robbed a man and tried to rob two more people during three separate incidents in Hull early yesterday morning.

The robbery and two attempted robberies all took place in the Beverley Road/Newland Avenue area less than within 90 minutes of each other.

A 41-year-old man was approached by three men on bikes between 3am and 3.10am. They threatened him and demanded his phone, but the man refused and ran off to a nearby home.

An 18-year-old woman was walking along Beverley Road between 3.10am and 3.20am when three men on bikes started to follow her.

One of the men made a rude comment before another of the group tried to grab her purse. Fortunately a taxi driver pulled up and the men cycled off.

In the final incident, three men on bikes approached a 21-year-old in Lambert Street as he walked home from a night out at around 4.18am.

They allegedly threatened to stab him before stealing his iPhone and wallet. The offenders then rode off towards Beverley Road.

No one was injured in any of the incidents, which are being linked by police.

The suspects are believed to be white and aged between 25 and 35 years old. They spoke with Eastern European accents.

One man was wearing a two tone jacket with white arms and light coloured cap. The second man was wearing all dark clothing with a cap. The third man was wearing a dark jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

Two were riding on white bikes and the third was riding a black bike with white wheel.

Police are reviewing CCTV in the area, house to house enquiries have been undertaken and a number of people have given statements.
