Development firm in flooring contract win

A development firm has lined up a lucrative new contract from a national flooring retailer.

Leeds-based KD Properties has secured a commercial letting contract with nationwide flooring retailer Flooring Republic, which opened new premises on Regent Street in Leeds city centre.

Next year will see KD Properties help Flooring Republic to establish outlets in 30 new locations across the UK.

Established in 1988 by K Singh, K D Properties is still a family business with clients that include Yorkshire Bank, Farmfoods, Starbucks, Milford Building Services, Leeds City Council and the award-winning Café Sylva in Oakwood.

The business, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018 has built up a strong portfolio of commercial and residential clients and specialises in professional lettings in north Leeds and Harrogate.

This year has been a successful year for the business.

One of its flagship developments, Café Sylva in Oakwood has won critical acclaim, picking up a raft of awards including being named as a finalist in the commercial build category in the Northern Design Awards.

The building was designed by Leeds-based MJF Architects Ltd.

Harpal Singh, director of KD Properties, said: “This is an exciting time for the business as we commemorate 30 years of operation.

“We intend to build on our existing spread of commercial and residential properties and look to broaden our remit to include projects all over the UK.

“It is a service that some of our clients are increasingly looking to from us as they aim to increase their national presence.”

Leeds-based Hentons has helped provide tax and professional business advice to KD Properties.
