Dig deep to help give well-deserved respite to our most selfless children

The Yorkshire Post’s Give Young Carers a Break appeal is raising money for the selfless children who devote their time to looking after sick or disabled relatives.

We are calling on readers to dig deep and help fund special days out that will give the region’s young carers some much-deserved respite from their responsibilities.

In the run-up to Christmas, you will be able to bid on 50 exciting lots which will be going under the hammer in an online charity auction, all kindly donated by businesses.

Readers and businesses can also donate directly to the appeal, which is sponsored by R&R Ice Cream, which has two sites in Yorkshire, in Leeds and Leeming, and manufactures Fab lollies and other family favourites.

The Yorkshire Post is teaming up with Yorkshire Community Foundation network to distribute funds and groups that work with the region’s young carers are asked to write to us to apply for a share of the cash.

Email [email protected] with a brief outline of your work and full contact details by December 31. We will contact you for more details and applications will be considered in the new year.
