Diocese hears Synod report
MEMBERS of the Sheffield Diocesean Synod will hear a report of proceedings from the recent General Synod of the Church of England when they gather on Saturday at St Mary’s Church in Bramall Lane, Sheffield.
Canon Simon Bessant will report on issues such as the decision to postpone a vote on the ordination of women as bishops.
The Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, and the Bishop of Doncaster, Peter Burrows, will both contribute to the weekend meeting.
A diocesean spokesman said yesterday: “The whole Synod will be Tweeted via @sheffdiocese.”
