Aaron, his five-year-old brother Matthew and his parents, Joanne and Lee Faulkner, will enjoy a magical week-long holiday away from endless medical appointments and hospital admissions.

His condition affects his independent mobility and means he needs a wheelchair for his everyday use. Although he is very aware of what is going on around him, he is unable to communicate. Despite all this his parents describe him as a “happy, content and bright boy”.

The Destination Dreams trip is organised by a national charity, Caudwell Children, to help families coping with the trauma of their child’s illness.

The families will be supported by a team of dedicated volunteers and a medical team of paramedics and doctors, provided by the charity.

Mrs Faulkner said “This means the world to us. Aaron has always been a fan of Mickey Mouse and his brother Matthew, who is brilliant with Aaron, is a huge fan of Toy Story.

“Last week alone, Aaron had four appointments and spent a lot of time in hospital, so seeing them happy away from hospital visits and spending time as a family is what this holiday is going to be all about.”

During the holiday the family will enjoy days out at DisneyWorld, Universal Studios and SeaWorld.

The family will stay in their own villa at Give Kids the World, a unique designed resort.
