Divers continue hunt for missing pupil, 17

police divers have continued the search for a 17-year-old who went missing after a night out.

Ben Manning was last seen in Wakefield in the early hours of last Saturday morning, near the JCT 600 garage in Denby Dale Road, having walked from Westgate, down Queen Street, along George Street and across Ings Road.

The last contact with family was at around 1.30am on Saturday when he sent a text message to his mother.

The Brigshaw High School pupil, who lives at Swillington, Leeds, was reported missing by his mother when he failed to return home.

In the early hours of this morning, between 1am and 2.30am, police stopped pedestrians and road users in the area of the JCT 600 garage to see if they had any information about the missing youth.

Yesterday police divers searched parts of the river Calder in the area of the Hepworth gallery, close to the city centre.
