Dodd to bring laughter back to City Varieties

A CHARITY gala performance by comedian Ken Dodd will mark the re-opening of the historic City Varieties music hall in Leeds.

The music hall in Swan Street will reopen on Sunday September 18 – with a charity gala performance by Dodd following its £9.2m refurbishment. He will also perform the following night.

A spokesman said “The City Varieties closed in January 2009 with an emotional performance from Ken Dodd, who is thrilled to be welcoming audiences back to this beautifully preserved music hall.
