Dome staff celebrate tourism award

STAFF at the Doncaster Dome are celebrating after winning the best large venue title at the prestigious Yorkshire Business Tourism Awards 2010.

Judges said 2009 had been an "exceptional year" for the Dome, and pointed to an extensive programme of events, including large-scale conferences, trade fairs, exhibitions and the BBC Walking with Prehistoric Life exhibition, when awarding the prize.

The venue was up against Sheffield's Ponds Forge, the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate, the National Railway Museum in York and the Harrogate International Centre.

Now in their third year, the awards were designed to recognise organisations and venues that go the extra mile to bring more business into Yorkshire.
