Double murder inquiry launched as bodies found

POLICE were last night hunting a double killer after two men were found dead.

The bodies were discovered after police were called to a ground-floor flat in Burnley, Lancashire, at 12.30pm yesterday.

Police have not revealed the cause of the men’s deaths or their identities but local residents named one of them as Neil Gilmore.

Mr Gilmore, known as Gilly, lived at the flat in Waddington Avenue and was said by neighbours to have had problems with alcohol.

Nursery nurse Debbie Chadburn, who lives opposite Mr Gilmore’s flat, said he lived there “for a good few years”.

She said: “He was the kind of guy who kept himself to himself but was very loud when he had taken a drink which he did often,
