Double murdererfails in appeal plea

A man who murdered two French students in an attack of "unmitigated evil" yesterday lost his bid to appeal against his conviction.

Dano Sonnex and Nigel Farmer, killed Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez during a three-hour torture ordeal in June 2008, were jailed for life a year later.

Sonnex, 25, from south-east London, was not at the Court of Appeal to hear his renewed application for permission to challenge his conviction rejected.
