Double success for Lady Gaga
Singer Lady Gaga enjoyed a triumphant start to the new year with a double success in the charts.
The flamboyant American knocked X Factor winner Joe McElderry from top spot in the singles chart and also gained second place in the album chart. Her single Bad Romance ended McElderry’s brief week-long stint at number one, and her album The Fame moved up two places into second spot behind Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini’s Sunny Side Up.
