Driver in hospital after Audi collides with wall in Dewsbury

A driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a wall in Dewsbury.

Police are appealing for witnesses after being called out to Halifax Road, close to Kirklees College, at around 9.45pm last night.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was extracted from the white Audi A4 by firefighters.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he was described as being in a serious, but stable condition at this time.

Officers are appealing for anyone who in the area last night and saw the vehicle in the time before it hit the wall or who may have witnessed the collision itself to come forward with any information.
