Driver killed in crash

A WOMAN died when her car hit a tree after colliding with another car while they were overtaking a lorry.

The 28-year-old, from Bridlington, was driving a blue Peugeot 206 north along the A165 at Fraisthorpe when it collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra, driven by a woman aged 20, while they were both overtaking a Daf truck, at about 9.15am yesterday.

The Peugeot driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to the drivers of two cars believed to have been at the scene following the collision but who left before officers arrived.

Anyone with information can call Humberside Police on 101.
