Mr Bailey put his arms up to protect himself but his attacker rained about 10 blows on him. He could not escape because he was pushed against a wall.
He handed over his cigarettes and claimed he also handed over his money, although that was later denied by Paul, who told him as the attack ended: "If you grass I'll kill you."
Mr Bailey suffered a cut inside his lip and his left cheek was swollen. When Paul was arrested he said he could not recall what had happened.
