Duchess’s wedding dress achieves fashion acclaim

The Duchess of Cambridge has made it on to a list of the world’s most stylish individuals for the first time as a member of the Royal Family – although she had also previously appeared on Vanity Fair’s list in 2008.

The Duchess was recognised for her “whirlwind of fashion successes” in the 72nd annual list. Her wedding dress was famously designed by Sarah Burton, for Alexander McQueen.

She was joined by Barack and Michelle Obama, making their first appearance together on the best-dressed couples list. Mrs Obama has been among the best-dressed ladies for the past four years, while the US President has only earned a spot once, in 2009.

Oscar-winning UK actor Colin Firth made his inaugural appearance on the best-dressed men list, along with Hollywood star Justin Timberlake.
