Duke steps in to open £12m dance studio

The Earl of Wessex chats to members of the Northern Ballet Sinfonia at the official opening of a £12m ballet and dance centre in Leeds.

The home of the Northern Ballet and the Phoenix Dance Theatre, near West Yorkshire Playhouse, is said to be the largest purpose-built dance space outside London.

The building, at Quarry Hill, includes seven dance studios, a 230-seat studio theatre and meeting rooms, hot tub, sauna and physio facilities.

The Earl also visited The Hunslet Club in Leeds which is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

Earlier he opened a new extension at Heckmondwike Grammar School, named in honour of former head Mark Tweedle.
