A spokesman from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "[Firefighters] had the fire under control by 2:50am and continued damping down until around 4am when they confirmed that the fire and hotspots were extinguished."

The spokesman added that it was a 'severe fire' causing heat and smoke damage to whole of property and possibly some structural damage. Crew used a water tower via the aerial ladder platform and two main jets.
