EasyJet to run first flights from Leeds Bradford

EASYJET is to operate its first flights from Leeds Bradford Airport, it announced yesterday.

The airline will operate 182 flights to Geneva, which is a popular route for winter sports enthusiasts as well as being a business centre.

The flights will take off five times a week from December 17 through to April 24.

The airline will be competing for business with Jet2, which also flies to Geneva from Leeds-Bradford.

Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation director at the airport, said the move would increase competition for passengers. "The introduction of winter services to Geneva will provide increased choice for business and winter ski passengers and we also look forward to welcoming an increasing number of Swiss visitors to Yorkshire," he said.
