Elderly man dies from car crash injuries

An 86-year-old man who suffered life-threatening injuries in a car crash in Doncaster has died in hospital.

South Yorkshire Police has confirmed this morning that Roy Cartlidge, from Armthorpe, died yesterday following the collision which happened on Sunday.

A black Skoda Fabia and a silver Ford Ka were involved in the collision, on the A6182 Great Yorkshire Way, around half a mile from the junction with the A638 Great North Road.

Mr Cartlidge was a passenger in the Skoda and his family are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Skoda, a 42-year-old man, and the driver of the Ford, also a 42-year-old man, both suffered minor injuries.
