Elderly passenger of Robin Reliant injured in M62 collision

An 84-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries after a collision on the M62.

The woman was travelling in a red Reliant Robin car when the vehicle was involved in a collision with a grey Volkswagen Transporter just after junction 34 of the motorway at Eggborough.

Both vehicles suffered major damage.  

The injured woman was a front seat passenger in the Reliant Robin.

She was taken to Pinderfields Hospital before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary. 

West Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 1.20pm on Sunday, to contact them.

Anyone who saw the collision or the Reliant Robin travelling on the M62 or M180 around the time of the collision is asked to contact PC 1694 Timothy Harding in the force’s safer roads team via 101, quoting log 662 of January 15.
