Elton ‘sorry’ for swearing

Sir Elton John apologised after swearing on air during an appearance on the Radio 2 breakfast show yesterday.

The programme’s host, Chris Evans, was telling the star that Jools Holland starts the day by playing the piano, when Sir Elton sighed and said: “Oh ******* hell”.

The pair both said sorry and the veteran singer then apologised again for saying “that naughty word”.

Sir Elton also said the long-planned film about his life would be “a kind of fantasy” and compared it to Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge.

He said: “My life’s been so surreal – from a football club to God knows what.”
