Celebration of rural entrepreneurship

Landowners and farmers who have made a vital contribution to the rural economy are set to be recognised in the Rual Business Awards.

The awards are supported by the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and it is calling for rural entrepreneurs from across Yorkshire to put themselves forward to be honoured.

Dorothy Fairburn, the CLA’s regional director for the North, said: “It is vitally important we recognise the innovation and excellence that I see present every day in businesses across the countryside.

“These awards will showcase some of the inspirational businesses that we can all learn from.”

Rural Business Awards co-founder Jemma Clifford of Be Rural added: “We finally have a dedicated set of awards just for our specialist rural sector.

“The Rural Business Awards will acknowledge the vital contribution rural companies make, encourage the countryside’s superb entrepreneurial spirit and recognise business excellence within the rural sector.

“The impact that the rural economy has on our national economy is so often under-valued and I am looking forward to being able to share success story after success story as part of the Rural Business Awards.”
