Chain with the real Yorkshire ‘meal deal’

SUPERMARKET chains and food retailers are always falling over themselves to offer ‘meal deals’ to workers for their lunch hour.

However, one local chain is offering a deal with a difference, pledging to sell products only from the deliciouslyorkshire range.

Proudfoots is offering a lunchtime meal deal with a real Yorkshire twist; a Yorkshire meal deal offers Tiffin sandwiches, Yorkshire Crisps and Blue Keld Water – which together make a locally sourced, high quality lunch offer which outshines high street shop deals.

This latest move is just one of the ways Proudfoots support the local community. The group is renowned for actively seeking out small producers in the region and encouraging customers to purchase locally sourced foods.

Valerie Proudfoot, buyer and distribution manager at Proudfoots, said: “Locally sourced produce is as important to our customers as it is to us so we wanted to give them a really regional meal deal, which has so far been received very well. Being a deliciouslyorkshire member helps a lot when implementing ideas such as these, as everyone is so happy to work with one another.”

Becky Boyes, trade development manager at deliciouslyorkshire, added: “Proudfoots is a genuine ambassador of Yorkshire food and they do a great job of promoting local suppliers and producers which is essentially what deliciouslyorkshire is all about.”

Proudfoots is an independent, family business and has three stores at Newby, Seamer and Eastfield. They have a long history of unique service and Yorkshire focused food sourcing and work closely with deliciouslyorkshire.
