Getting back on track with a summer of shows

The summer programme of agricultural shows is drawing closer and organisers are hoping for better weather after many fell victim to unexpected heavy rainfall last summer.

Otley Show is the first this month on May 18 and a packed programme in June features Yorkshire County Show (2), Honley Show (8), Eastrington Agricultural Show and Todmorden Agricultural Show (15), North Yorkshire County Show (16) and Arthington Show (30).

Taking place in July are Bridlington Old Town Show and Howden Agricultural and Horticultural Show (7), Great Yorkshire Show (9-11), Malton Show (14), Driffield Show (17), Bingley Show and Bishop Wilton Show (20), Aldborough and Boroughbridge Agricultural Show (21), Birstwith Annual Village Show (27), Huby and Sutton Show and Weeton Show (28), Ryedale Show (30) and Borrowby Show (31).

August brings the return of Emley Show and Osmotherley Show (3), Sykehouse Show and Tockwith and District Show (4), Thornton Le Dale Show (7), Hinderwell Horse and Agricultural Society Show (9), Halifax Agricultural Show (10), Ripley Show (11), Danby Agricultural Show (14), Gargrave Agricultural and Horticultural Show and Rosedale & District Show (17), Mirfield Agricultural Show (18), Egton Horse and Agricultural Show (21), Wensleydale Agricultural Show and Malhamdale Agricultural, Horticultural Society Show (24), Burniston and District Agricultural and Horticultural Show, Farndale Show, Reeth and District Agricultural Show (26), Kilnsey Show (27) and Bilsdale Show (31).

Further events are scheduled for September before Countryside Live at the Great Yorkshire Showground on October 19-20.
