Long and winding road nears end
The £500,000 project has involved Sustrans, North Yorkshire County Council and Harrogate Borough Council.
Those on horseback will be able to enjoy a new off-road route away from traffic. A crossing on the A61 has a light-controlled Pegasus crossing, which can be operated without dismounting.
Options for walkers include the Nidd Gorge, Knaresborough and Ripley. Sunday afternoon strollers from Ripley will soon find themselves out in attractive countryside.
