Regular Country Week contributor Chris Berry is getting ready to swap his notebook for a guitar ahead of a series of solo music gigs.

The rural affairs specialist will also be raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance at his shows around the county with auctions held during his stints on stage.

Chris, who is also known for being one of the ‘Singing Farmers’, plays guitar and sings covers of hit songs such as American Pie, Sweet Caroline, Brown Eyed Girl, Wonderful Tonight and Delilah.

“We all had such a great time on my solo tour last year and tickets are already selling well for this year’s shows right across the county,” says Chris.

“The nights are all about having a lot of fun and the venues I’m playing are terrific. They’re all intimate theatres or performance halls and are great nights out.

“We also raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance with a four-minute auction of any useless item someone brings along with them. That can be hilarious. It would be great to have a complete sell-out and we’re heading that way.”

His tour takes in the Milton Rooms Studio Theatre in Malton on Thursday, September 4, the Yorkshire Museum of Farming in Murton, York on Friday, September 5, the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds on Friday, September 19, the Playhouse Theatre in Pateley Bridge on Saturday, September 20 and, featuring as part of The Chris Berry Band, at the Kirk Theatre in Pickering on Saturday, September 27.

Tickets priced £10 are available online by visiting or by sending a cheque made payable to Chris Berry to: Chris Berry Tour Tickets, 2 Elmete Croft, Scholes, Leeds LS15 4BE and including your address details.
