Sheep leads flocks to this year’s show

TICKETS for this year’s Great Yorkshire Show – England’s premier agricultural event – have now gone on sale with Yorkshire Agricultural Society chief executive Nigel Pulling, left, and show director Bill Cowling getting initial interest from a Texel-cross sheep.

The 153rd event takes place on July 12, 13 and 14, when more than 130,000 visitors are expected at Harrogate’s Great Yorkshire Showground.

Mr Cowling said: ‘We’re hugely proud of the Great Yorkshire Show as a celebration of the best of British farming. Interest in food production has never been greater, and we’re proud to provide a national platform to celebrate agricultural excellence.’
