Yorkshire is set to positively sizzle in temperatures of up to 22C this weekend - just days after many of us woke up to a blanket of snow.
A high of 22C is forecast across the county, in Barnsley, Leeds, York and Wetherby, surpassing the 20C expected in the Greek capital, Athens.
The weather will come as a relief to those who thought spring would never arrive, with commuters surprised by a flurry of snow on Friday morning which cancelled flights and closed roads across our county.
Highs of 23C are predicted in London, matching those expected on Ibiza.
But don't chuck the umbrella just yet. The forecast does mention the possibility of isolated thundery showers throughout the weekend.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "It will be largely fine during this period, with some hazy sunny spells, although there is a chance of some coastal fog at times over the weekend and perhaps isolated thundery showers."
Forecasters predicted the record for the hottest day of the year (currently 19.2C, or 66.6F) will be bettered at least once before the end of the week.
Calum MacColl, from the Met Office, said: “Today was an absolutely stunning day, reaching 19C in Gravesend, and the conditions for most of the country were consistent with summer.
“We could see 20C on Thursday, although parts of Ireland and Scotland may have a spot of early showers before it brightens up.
“Things could get even better over the weekend, with highs of 25C in eastern England on Sunday. It will be a proper blast of summer.”
This Evening and Tonight:
Becoming a little cloudier during the evening, although it should stay dry, aside from perhaps the odd spot of rain in the Dales, as most areas also avoid a frost. Minimum Temperature 4 °C.
Perhaps rather cloudy across northern areas at first, although all parts should see some sunny spells. It should again feel pleasantly warm by the afternoon, with lighter winds. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Largely fine with some hazy sunny spells, although there is a chance of some coastal fog at times over the weekend and perhaps isolated thundery showers. Increasingly warm inland.
