Taste tour added to the menu for Malton food lovers

A Taste Trail has been added to the bill at next month’s Malton Food Lovers’ Festival.

Visitors will be able to follow the trail to discover more about Malton and try ten nibbles from participating food outlets along the way. Businesses taking part in the trail are all based in Malton and include the Palace Cinema, The Hidden Monkey, The Patisserie, The Pott in Shed, Tui’s, TVC Electrical, Woodall’s, The Woodlark, The Yard and Yates.

The activity will be a feature of the festival throughout the two-day event which is being held this year on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19. To join the trail, guests need to purchase a Taste Trail leaflet, costing £3.50 per person, either from the festival’s website or during the weekend itself. The price for two people is £6. Leaflet holders will be entitled to special discounts.

Malton Food Lovers’ Festival will be attended by celebrity chefs Antonio Carluccio, Tom Parker Bowles, James Mackenzie, Andrew Pern and Visen Anenden, the personal chef to The Prince of Wales. Chefs will be demonstrating their skills in the Malton Cookery School Tent.

Over the course of the weekend there will be a series of children’s events, more than 150 producer stalls and a beer and wine festival. The latter features 40 casks of real ale and cider and will take place to the right of the Milton Rooms both days. Admission is free.

Organisers are preparing to attract more than 20,000 people to the fifth annual festival and are calling for volunteers to act as ambassadors. For more details, visit www.maltonfoodfestival.co.uk
