Two recruits Emerge on Vion Food programme

Malton based Vion Food Group has recruited two new people to its Graduate Management Development Programme, Emerge.

David Milanesi and Matt Atlay are two of the eleven successful candidates appointed to the programme that saw hundreds apply for the 2011 intake.

Mr Milanesi hails from Brazil, where his family own and run beef and dairy farms. He will focus on operations during his time on the programme.

Meanwhile Mr Atlay, who studied history at Manchester University, will be working in the pork business’s sales and marketing department. He applied for a place on VION’s Emerge programme,

He said: “The food industry is becoming increasingly important, as the world’s population and the demand for sustainable food sources increase, and I am keen to be involved at the sharp end.”

This is the second cohort of the programme that was first launched in 2009, and which includes an in-depth induction to the entire business, and experience of working in a number of departments, before graduates take up the role they have been recruited for.
