Yorkshire traffic: How the roads and rail could affect you today

POOR WEATHER conditions are affecting some rail services in Yorkshire this morning.

First TransPennine Express, Northern Rail and Virgin Trains have been affected after Network Rail imposed a 50mph speed limit in some areas.

Trains between Skipton and Carlisle and Skipton and Lancaster may be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

This is expected to continue until midday.

Engineering works are also taking place from December 21 to 23, affecting the Northern Rail service from Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly.

The 10.47pm service will not call at Stockport.

Some bus routes are seeing disruption today as well, with Grange Lane in Maltby, Rotherham, closed between High Street and Salisbury Road for carriageway resurfacing work from 9.30am to 3.30pm every day until December 23.

This will affect the 2, 13a, 18, 304 and X7 bus services.

St. Lawrence Road in Tinsley, Sheffield, will be temporarily closed to traffic at the junction with Sheffield Road for the junction to be rebuilt until February 26, 2016.

This will affect the 69 bus service.

There are also delays on the A64 York Road in Leeds due to a jackknifed wagon. The road was closed eastbound at the Stanks Lane North junction earlier this morning.
