Ex-Forces MPs to light a candle a century after Great War

yorkshire MPs who served in the armed forces will light a candle a century after the First World War.

Dan Jarvis, Labour MP for Barnsley Central and ex-Army officer, said: “I hope people across Yorkshire will join in with the Lights Out project on August 4 and help keep their memory burning brightly.”

Ex-RAF officer Jason McCartney, Tory MP for Colne Valley, said: “I’ll be encouraging everyone in my constituency to turn off their lights between 10pm and 11pm on Monday August 4, leaving only a single candle lit for this symbolic act of reflection and hope.”
