Ex-United chief set to stand trial in May

Former Leeds United director Simon Morris may stand trial in May accused of conspiracy to blackmail.

A date was provisionally fixed when he made his first appearance yesterday at Leeds Crown Court but it and the venue could change. He was given bail.

Morris, 32, of Ling Lane, Scarcroft, Leeds is charged with a co-accused Jonathan Ashworth, of Hyde, Cheshire, whose case has not yet been sent to the crown court.
