Exhibition celebrates city's volunteers

Martin Maybank, 22, who graduated from Leeds College of Art and Design this summer, took them for his final-year degree project.

"Doing this project gave me the chance to talk to and photograph loads of interesting people from all over Leeds," he said.

Coun Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds Council's member with responsibility for the 2010 Leeds Year of Volunteering, said: "I hope that lots of people are able to go along and view the photographs and that it helps to illustrate that volunteering really is something that anybody can get involved in."

The images have been put on show on the first floor gallery at Leeds Central Library between now and November 30.
