Exhibition marks 60th anniversary

It will be officially opened by the chairman of East Riding Council, Coun David Rudd, this evening and will run until October 30. This year there are 400 entries ranging from watercolours and oils to handmade garden ornaments.

Visitors will be able to leave their own mark on the exhibition at Cottingham Civic Hall as part of the Big Draw, a national campaign to get people drawing. They are invited to add their own pictures to a large roll of paper, on the theme of “making your mark on the future.” Workshops being run alongside the exhibition, include a session on origami between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on Sunday, led by Kirsty Champ and a children’s Chinese dragon puppet-making class, led by Liz Dees, who designed one of the Larkin Toad favourites, the spiky-haired Punkphibian. Sessions cost 2 per person.
