An exhibition of photographs at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate reveals how the tea industry is playing a key role in helping Rwanda escape its troubled past following the genocide of 1994.

The collection, called Tea – From the Land of a Thousand Hills, is by photographer Tim Smith who travelled to Gisovu, Mata and Kitabi, three tea estates along Rwanda's borders. The exhibition opens tomorrow and can be seen until January 16.
