Exhibition to talk sport on tour

A ‘talking’ exhibition celebrating the Harrogate district’s sporting heritage will tour leisure and community centres until September.

It features audio clips from dozens of sporting enthusiasts and provides residents with an opportunity to discover more about the region’s sport. Louise Longbottom-Smith from Birstwith Tennis Club and Dennis Altoft from Ripon Sailing Club listen to themselves, above, at the free ‘listening station’, which is accompanied by background information and photographs from their clubs, at the Royal Pump Room museum in Harrogate.

The touring exhibition has been put together by Nicola Dyke from Harrogate Museums and Arts and Harrogate Borough Council and its first stop will be at Nidderdale Pool tomorrow, where it will remain until April 30.
