Extra £50m Lotto cash in rules change

The arts, sport and heritage will each get an extra £50m a year in Lottery funding under newly introduced changes to its rules, the Government has said.

Ministers approved plans to return the share of funds given to arts, sport and heritage projects to 20 per cent from 2012.

Tourism and heritage minister John Penrose also pledged that Lottery money for the voluntary and community sector would be protected as part of the “Big Society” agenda.
