A pair of Bristol Green glasses, said to date from around 1820 and complete with a label stating “purcheased (sic) from the sale of Charles Dickens things Gadds Hill” are on offer at £1,200.

Elsewhere a silk chiffon negligee, once owned by the Duchess of Windsor, offers some glamour for anyone with £1,500 to spare.

An outfit worn by Absolutely Fabulous actress Joanna Lumley when she starred as Gertrude Lawrence in the West End production Noel and Gertie alongside Simon Cadell is among other attractions.

Royalty enthusiasts may be interested in a set of six small engraved wine glasses made in 1820 for the Prince Regent, later George IV, which have a price tag of £2,000.

The sale started yesterday and dealers will be at Harewood Pavilion, based in the grounds of Harewood House on the outskirts of Leeds, both today and tomorrow.
