Fallen servicemen home to hero's welcome

Mourners place floral tributes on a hearse as coffins containing two fallen servicemen are driven through Wootton Bassett after they were repatriated to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.

The families of Marine Adam Brown, of 40 Commando, Royal Marines, and Lance Sergeant Dale McCallum, of 1st Battalion Scots Guards, wept as their bodies were brought back home.

Marine Brown and Lance Sergeant Dale McCallum were repatriated to RAF Lyneham for a private service. Their families then joined hundreds of residents, shopkeepers and visitors in lining the high street of nearby Wootton Bassett as the cortege passed through the Wiltshire market town.

Wootton Bassett has come to represent the nation in honouring those who have paid the ultimate price during each repatriation. Mayor Mary Champion said: "They will always get a hero's welcome in Wootton Bassett."
