Family frustrated after report into cause of fatal plane crash delayed

Lawyers for the family of a Yorkshireman who was among 90 people killed in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash expressed their frustration after the publication of an interim report on the incident was delayed. The Boeing 737 crashed in the Mediterranean Sea during a storm early on January 25 last year shortly after taking off en route from Beirut to Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.

Relatives of the victims were hoping the report, which was due to be released by the Lebanese transport minister yesterday, would help them to understand why their loved ones died.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell, which is representing the family of victim Kevin Grainger, 54, a musician from Keighley, said in a statement: "We desperately hope that the authorities can bring their investigation into the incident to an end soon and provide vital and necessary insights into the causes of this crash and the resulting and tragic loss of life."
