The devastated family of a woman who died in a house fire have paid tribute to her.

Jo-Anne Campbell, a mum-of-four, was found dead when police and firefighters were called to her home.

No one else is thought to have been at the house on Moat Way, Brayton, near Selby, when the fire broke out in the early hours of Monday.

Her long-term partner Jonathan Longley said: “Right now words cannot express the level of grief and complete and total loss we as a family feel.

“The loss of a mother, partner, friend are almost too much to bear. But the overwhelming level of kindness and consideration that has been shown has meant a great deal to all of us.”

Police are treating the 45-year-old’s death as unexplained and say extensive enquiries are currently underway.

An inquest into her death is expected to open shortly.

Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area.

They want to hear from anyone who saw anything in the vicinity of the address between 11pm and 2am on Monday.
