Family trail for parkland cyclists

Ian Scott, bike hire supervisor at the National Trust's Clumber Park near Worksop, with some of the 250 bikes available to explore the parkland, which is run by the National Trust, and has a new lakeside bike trail to explore.

More than 250 cycles are available to hire, in order to explore Clumber's 20 miles of cycle paths. As well as ordinary bikes there are also cycle connectors, tandems, helmets, child bikes and bikes with child carrier seats on offer.

Details of the five-mile lakeside trail, which is suitable for families, are available to download on the National Trust website.

Trevor Pressley, visitor services manager at Clumber Park, said: "This is a great cycle route for families – the paths are flat and wide, with good surfaces.

"Although fairly short, it's very varied, taking in sections of the lakeside path, open countryside and woodland tracks, with plenty of opportunities to sit and take in the views and perhaps spot some of our wildlife here at Clumber."
